Listen, I'm sorry if I offended you but if you're not a good writer or don't want to be one then why bother writing a script?
Nobody gives a shit if you want to use your own ideas or you don't. You have plenty of your own ideas as you said - so 'just fucking write them'. Otherwise, this was really a pointless excercise.
If you had have said - "I have an idea for a romance: dah dah dah da dah - what do you think, any suggestions'. Sure - alot of idiots of here would have quetioned your sexuality but some people would have been glad to help you, myself included (despite having reached that milestone year of 34).

Ideas come from all sources. Newspapers, tv news, ammusing anecdotes, film forum posts....and other people. It doesn't matter where you get those ideas as long as there is a spark of creativity. What does it matter that Mods wants idea from other people, be it a log line or a treatment? If Souljacker or redlum dont want to give ideas then dont, and stop winging about it!!!! I think that Souljackoff and redrum are tag team posters, or the same person....theres a screenplay in that somewhere, over to you Mods.

Don't be so fucking self righteous , if I have a good idea - I'm not going to give it somebodyelse. What is all this stealing ideas bullshit? We are film makers, I don't want other people to write or direct my own ideas and screenplays and neither does anyone else here. A collaboration is fine, great in fact, you only have to look at the Coen brothers.
Mods doesn't want to steal ideas, he just wants write a script but people couldn't assume a film makers natural protectiveness of ideas - they have to instead go on some fucking 'idea stealing' crusade. So instead of presenting reasonable friendly arguments for coming up wiith your own ideas or saying 'Well, what did you have in mind mods?' they act like morons instead.
Fuck. This place is a big waste of time, most of the time.

I never mentioned anything about "stealing ideas" The guy is asking for them outright. Hes not stealing. I just have your own ideas man. Its fuckin lame if you have to come on a messege board and ask someone else to have a good idea for you.
But of course now MODS realises he actualy does have his own ideas its all ok. I just know when you finish something be in a story, a script, a song or a film and you put your name on it and call it your own. I want it to be my own. I want to know inside my self that its mine. I had an idea I developed it and now im proud of MY finished product. If I new from the start I had to have someone else give me the original idea. It just wouldnt feel the same.
But I guess people are different. Do what you gotta do.

Exactly, I try not to show the script to anyone untill its done either. So the thing is completely mine and so that noone else can lay any claims to it, and I can be proud of my achievement.
